The injection line must make sense
In regular brickwork the chosen mortar bed provides a continuous line for treatment. Drilling into random positions or ignoring changes in floor level can leave routes around the new barrier.
Irregular walls are harder
Thick stone and rubble-filled walls can contain voids and mixed materials. Distribution of the injected product is less predictable than in a uniform brick bed, so the specification may need adjusting.
Bridges still need removing
A new chemical DPC cannot stop rainwater reaching above it from high paving, nor can it correct wet cavity debris that bridges the inner and outer leaves.
Injection and replastering solve different parts
The DPC aims to reduce new capillary moisture. Salt-contaminated plaster may need separate attention if it continues absorbing moisture or breaking down.
